Cusco 2
5th Nov - 7th Nov (Day 246 - Day 248)
After an amazing morning in Machu Picchu, we decended to Aguas Calientes at the foot of Machu Picchu for some lunch before heading back to Cusco. Once back in Cusco we were completely drained and tired after the last 3 days of trekking but instead of heading for an early night we went out to a local restuarant to meet up with some of the other guys who had been on the trek for a final dinner together. It was great to see the guys one last time and share a few drinks together and reminisce about the previous crazy and tiring few days.
After dinner a few of us ventured to a local club with some of the tour guides to take in some of Cusco's nightlife. It was pretty entertaining watching all the guides that had been leading us for the last few days in a different light attempting to strut their stuff on the dance floor. Lets just say they were much better guides than they are dancers!
The following day we had to move hotels at 10am, given our exploits of the previous evening this was not the most enjoyable experience. But we managed to get up on time and check into our new hostel. We spent the rest of the day exploring more of Cusco and taking in more of the amazing Inca architecture particularly in the San Blas square area.
The next day was a sad day for us as we had to say goodbye to Tina and Jess as they had to catch a flight back to Lima, we had and an amazing week with them both so we were really disappointed to see them leave.
After Tina and Jess had left, T and I had a day to chillout and recover from the previous week before we moved onto our next destination which was Puno on the bank of lake Titicaca.
