Day 11
4th August 2013
We have breakfast and leave the hotel around 8:30 to catch our flight to Krabi and our night at a home stay.
We arrive at Krabi airport and are picket up by a lorry with benches down either side. We head off and part way we stop at Tesco's to get something for lunch and some supplies for our home stay visit. After about an hour be get back on our lorry and continue on our journey to the harbour where we get on two long tail boats waiting to take us to the home stay. Tonight we are staying on a small island and fishing village which we have been told is very basic. We arrive and are shown to our accommodation. The couples each have a room each where as the rest of us seem to be all in one room! I ask Bond if I'm sleeping in with the 10 girls and he shows me to a small room in the corner which has a bed and a mattress on the floor and says this is our room. We dump our bags and go for a drink and to pre order our dinner for tonight. After our drink we head out on a couple of Tuk Tuks for a tour of the island. Our first stop is a place making wooden models, mainly boats. We leave there and are then taken to a fabric printing place where we are given the chance to try our hands at painting some fabric. Then it's on a bit further down the road and a chance to walk along the beach and see all the thousands of tiny crabs that live in the sand there. Back onto the Tuk Tuks and we return to the home stay to board the long tail boats again for a tour of the the local mango groves. After a while we pull into the shore and go to see some caves that are inside the limestone rocks. Then back onto the boats and continue along the river in the hope of maybe seeing some of the monkeys that live in the mango groves. After about an hour we arrive back at the home stay after a no show from the monkeys and then comes the really good bit! The que for the one shower between 12 of us. What are the chances of getting a shower with 10 girls all wanting to get ready. I sit outside listening to my iPod and having a smoke and wait for everyone to finish and go to dinner. Once everyone has gone I grab the towel from my room. I say towel but its not much bigger than a face cloth! I go into the shower room, well we where warned things were basic here but the shower is just a hose hanging on the wall with a shower head on it and its only cold water!!!!
I get dressed and join the others for dinner and after we sit around chatting for a while. Before long everyone turns in and I sit outside listening to my music and having a cigarette. Suddenly I hear a scream from inside from Alex and the next thing I hear is Ian what have you done now. It seems there was some kind of bug in the room. I stay outside and let the girls sort it out for them selfs as I have no idea what they might have on. By around 23:30 everyone has gone to sleep and I have one last cigarette before turning in myself.
