Hello All !! I have been away for a while now because we were in Cha-Am for the weekend. But, I am back now to update you on all the fun we had the last 3 days.
Friday, we arrived at the Beach Resort. It was very fun and more than beautiful. After check-in, everyone started screaming off their balconies and out the windows. Within 8 minutes, we had all changed and were headed to the beachside. The beach was gorgeous while it lasted but a few people got cut up by sea shells, so we ended up in the pool, by the sea!! We swimmed into the night.... Decided to eat dinner at one of the resturants right off the water. It was so peaceful, you could hear the tides as we relaxed and ate.
Saturday, breakfast was provided. Buffet, but it was so much food to choose from. The seating was also a bit of an issue, there was no where to sit and the waiters were trying to clean tables fast, but were not very successful. We had a group meeting at 10a.m. Dr. Pelton decided he wanted to lecture, so that is exactly what he did...lol while we stared out into the beach, not quite listening. As a group we decided to go into town which was bout 6 miles from the hotel. Most people took taxies but there were a few that decided they were going to hike it out.... (including Josh and I) At first it was great... then the sun started melting my braids lol... After about an hour, half the group jumped on a taxi and took it the rest of the way to town. We decided "since we started out walking we wanted to finish". I became a soilder and slowly made it to town after 2 hours.... I was past tired and sweated about 10 pounds off my body (Mom shut-up, I know you thinking thats good) but it really was great exercise, until my leg almost fell off the next day, but that is a different story. Wait till you see the pictures I took of myself right after the walk.. Horrible!!! and I got a blister on my toes. Later, that night we all went to Hua Hin night market. It was ok, just about the same as any other market. Came back to the hotel, ate dinner (very good) and fell asleep!!! Very tiring day!
Sunday: The 2nd Best day (elephant ride is in 1st place). Started out with breakfast as always. Went swimming again.. yah! Water felt great... Dr. Hubbard and the other Dr. Hubbard were both poolside watching us and played a few pool games. After, swimming a few of us walked to the nearby village just to look around. We ended up starting an adventure!!! We stopped at a local resturant, owned by the sweetest person in Thailand. A lady named Wan. She owned the resturant (and was the cook), the next door tailor store and a bar. She welcomed us all and started feeding us. She had homemade spring rolls and they were delicious! We all ordered her food for lunch and had a blast talking to her. Oh, she also rented out motorbikes....so...... after lunch we all paired up and rented motorbikes for the day!! Best idea ever!! We were Team Honda lol !!! (I have pictures) We rode into the wind (Hair blowing and all)...Since we had never rode motorbikes before we had to all practice before we left the area to start our adventure. We thought all was well so we headed to the street!! Upon arriving at the street, we had to do u-turns to head toward town. Unfortunely, Tish and Ashley lost control of their bike and punged into the bushes..lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol.. It was a sight to see (after they were ok of course) they had to pull the bike out of the bushes with help of all the locals that saw what happened and stopped to see the accident. After the accident we rode though the town and then rode back though the town of Cha-Am...We rode around for hours, exploring all there was to explore. Rode to the beachside also. We looked like a motorbike gang ha ha !! At 8:30 we dropped off our bundle of fun back to Wan and headed to the hotel. We all hung out at the fun pub played Jinga, pool and darts. Then, to sleep we went. What a great day!
