Oh my goodness.. today was the most AMAZING day of my entire life !!! So, I am going to start from beginning to end. Woke up at 5:45, ate breakfast, guess what??... Strawberry jam again . We were on the tour bus by 7:00am. Headed towards the elephants but we made a few stops. Once out the city, Thailand is a very different place, but still interesting. Our first stop was at a farmers home. We saw how they lived day to day and the things they sold to make a way for their families. Once on there land, it was obvious that they had banana trees, very beautiful. The next part is JUST for you Mom!!
When we arrived one of the women were making coconut oil by hand and we got to watch her cook it in a big pot. (Got a picture too) So..... I BOUGHT YOU SOME!!! YAH!! I know you love me!! Got a few unique things from their shop also. After that we drove further north-east and went to the Floating Market. It was one of the most tempting places of all... I took lots of pictures, because the atmosphere is exactly has described but when you are there, its great! I ended up spending alot of money too.. oops!! Oh well.... Next, the tour guide took us up into the mountains. He wanted us to experience a train ride in Thailand. I must admit, it was wayyyy different than I expected. It was 40 minutes late to the station and there were no more seats, so people just bunched into the train, some even sitting in the door way. It was ridiculous! No air conditioning. Then, it started raining and the train came to a hault without any notice, people went flying everywhere. Guess the conductor could not drive on the wet tracks. The train took us to lunch. It was a buffet and it was pretty good, considering we had been sweating for about 2 hours straight lol...The mountain view was wonderful, with all the crops in the foreground (sugarcane and tapioca). From lunch we headed to my favorite place.. the rainforest to ride elephants!!! Upon arrival, my adrenaline was rushing!! There was tons of elephants waiting on us. It had started raining again but that did not stop me! Josh and I climbed aboard! It was very exciting and adventurous! We had a tour guide that sung thoughout the ride, so it felt so authentic! Our elephant also had a baby elephant tied to it, so we had it double time. We rode though the jungle and into the river and back though the village. It was great !! We took alot of pictures on the elephant. After the ride, we also had a show. The elephants are very talented. We took a picture with the elephant after the show too. The ride back was long and tiring but it was all worth it. This was the best day ever !!! Pictures are good !!! Tomorrow, we head to Cha Am/ Hua Hin. Not sure if we will have access daily but I will write again on Monday to give a detailed overview of the weekend.
~~Love~~
