Hello everyone!

I have succesfully completed the first leg of my journey! I am now in the hostel in London.

The flight was good, the four hour layover in Seattle was pretty boring but I can now say I can successfully navigate the Seattle airport with ease. On the flight I enjoyed a delicious meal of cheese tortellini , bread, salad and cheescake and of course a mini bottle of wine! :) I watched a couple movies and an episode of Friends! and slept as much as I could. Luckily the plane wasn't full at all and there were two empty rows in the centre area so the guy next to me ended up sitting there so I had the two chairs to myself!

When I landed in London I had to catch the tube (like the skytrain but underground) to the area where my hostel is. It was really easy to navigate around and there are always people around to help you. I had some trouble finding the hostel even after getting directions from a guy at the station, I ended up walking right past it! The sign on the place is so small and there are trees infront so its really hard to see when your walking by. I ended up actually walking like 5 or 6 blocks (not easy with a 30 pound pack on) before asking a lady who then walked me to it!

The hostel i'm staying at is alright, pretty basic. I'm roomed with 4 others....all aussies!! There are 3 older ladies that are really nice, they're here for a lace conference (?).... and another girl who is 22 who had come to London with her boyfriend for a wedding and then they acutally ended up breaking up about one week in so now she's on her own till July and I guess a little homesick as this is her first time really being away from her family!

The first thing I did when I arrived was have a shower...it was very much needed! I really don't understand who designed the bathrooms though? There are individual rooms, one with just a toilet and sink, one with just a shower and one with both but the showers have no shower curtain or anything its just like a room with shower on the wall. There are no shelves or hooks to put anything on so all of your stuff gets wet from the spray from the shower!?

Well tonight I think I am going to go for dinner with the girl from my room and then maybe see the new sex and the city movie (very cultural i know!)
