For our final blog post we thought we'd do a list of what a gap year has taught us so without further ado...
A gap year education:
Always ask the nice man how to reach your hotel
Airport food on Asian flights is actually nice
Love Nordic people
If you need anything go to 7eleven
Make sure your hostel is situated near a 7eleven
Love 7eleven
Bed bugs do exist they're not just a figment of our imagination
Beware of Chang beer and the changover it leaves
Karma's a b****
TET falls at the end of January/beginning of February. Avoid being stuck
Microfibre towels are not natural beach towels
A sleeping bag liner is your best friend
Buses in Cambodia have wifi
iTunes is your best friend on an 18hr bus ride
However cute mini toiletries are they don't last
No matter how pale people say you are, judge your tan lines for yourself
Love m&m's and twix's
Cadbury's chocolate just isn't the same
To cover every eventuality take: guidebooks, kindle, phone, money, music, sun tan lotion, sunglasses
But your clothes in Bangkok.
Joma's bakery is a must stop in Laos and Hanoi. It makes the world go round
If you're going to watch the sunrise, make sure you have a seat
Yaly's in hoi an is a pretty great place to get a dress made
Come armed with ideas for your tailor made dress or be prepared to be watched like a hawk
Pay the bill as soon as you receive it. They won't wait
Indonesians snore and a snorer is your hostel nightmare.
Good quality flip flops are a godsend
Only bring the bare necessities
Stock up in broccoli, shortbread and home cooking before you go
A bar of Lindt chocolate is the perfect way to celebrate Easter
Smile when it all goes wrong.
So for the final time as a twosome!!
Lots of love
