Drew, I confess that it's been a while since I've looked at your journal, but I'm glad that I did again. I went through your whole London photo album and marveled at every bit of it: I remember some of those exact views, and it's amazing to think that I was just where you were. I hope you're having a great time and making by on whatever you've been reduced to eating (your quip about dropping body weight tern-like wasn't so much of a quip). Be well.

Your German Rockstar friend (Nfld) tried contacting me while I was in Ottawa, and my roomates passed him off as some creepy guy I must have met along the way... not so.
I hope he tries again; maybe he'll read this message and pick up the phone, or maybe Ill see him at an open mic night somewhere in the Hfax.
Glad you got the TLC...was a little worried about the timing.
Hurricane hitting my coast this weekend, so SURFS UP dude.

Drewseph! I hope you got the specs for the world's biggest tree house becuase its my new goal to not simply build a tree house, no no my friend, to build a world's biggest tree house that we can all live in together! Today was our first day of school and you were sorely missed. Bates isn't the same without you. Farnsworth greeted the new class with an address addressing the "three lower case virtues": passion, discipline, and generosity. You would have been a fan. Christine misses scrabble and bottles of whiskey. Happy trails my man! Check ya later.

I've just realized from my previous message that my 'next home' can be construed as also beneath the altar of Durham Cathedral. That is not the case.

Drew! You went to Alnwick! Wasn't the castle/estate amazing? Did you take a walk through the Duke's 120,000-acre estate? It's fabulous. Also, that's great that you got to Holy Island to see Cuthbert's first resting place. My next home is his final resting place, 'neath the altar of Durham Cathedral.

Yo Drew, you're awesome. Your photos are awesome, your latest super-deep journal entry is awesome (I was there with you, man), your new wind jacket is awesome, it's awesome that you got to hang out with your parents in Scotland...keep up the awesome work. Emily T. and I are enjoying our San Fran Americorps experience...we just signed up for foodstamps, whoop! Jayo and I are going to see a Sam Bush concert tonight...how's the music over there in those British Isles? Miss you, hugs from the West coast (of the US; you know).
Christine
Oh Drew! The seabirds, the shorebirds, the ducks! I am overwhelmingly jealous! Do not fear, I am out on Hog Island again this summer, and watching as the arctic terns take a breather on Eastern Egg Rock as they continue traveling along. I miss you! Good luck, keep me posted.

Dude,
Your little travel adventure is not even close to being as cool as mine. Today, I actually got to sit in front of a computer in a cubicle ALL DAY. And I even got to answer the phone, man it was so cool and interesting, Im just learning so much about all these new people and animals. I saw 6 rats yesterday, can you believe it, 6, the rarest animal in all the world and I got to see 6 man! I bet your so jealous........haha dude what your doin is bad ass and obviously my post-college life is not nearly as cool as yours, keep on truckin buddy!

Drew,
Good to see that you're off to a rollicking start. Best of luck in the Shetlands - I'm quite envious that you get to spend so much time there. If you have any free time, there are some excellent prehistoric sites up there - standing stones and the like. I look forward to your future postings. Bye for now.

Howdy Andrew, I just found this page and have spent the last hour looking at the pics and reading up on your adventures. I am relieved that your journal entries haven't (yet) degenerated into unintelligible gruntings thanks to so much travel in remote areas and lack of human contact.
Your newest cousin Naomi sends a big smile (and about a gallon of drool) your way. Please post more photos of you with various weaponry across your shoulders as your Mom just loves tales of fighting off polar bears. Oh, and don't forget to let us know how your Janitor Willy impression goes over amongst the Picts...

Drewstopher... Mariah and I have just finished exploring the bird world vicariously through you, and we think you're lying. There aren't that many birds, anywhere. No just kidding, congratulations- you're ridiculous! In a fantastic way. Hope you're having good, clean fun with your birds and all the random people you meet in your travels! I'm in 24 Wood having dinner with Kristen, Julia, and the aforementioned Mariah. I think we'll head to Portland shortly to see the Jerks of Grass. Emily and I head to California (for the year) on Tuesday. So I'll track you from there. Until next time, birdman! Love, Rachel, Julia, Kristen and Mariah

i agree... and also, im not sure i believe that andrew has seriously spotted all 98 of 'em. I think i'll reserve judgment until i see some sort of documentation to verify those sightings.
how about a response andy? do you actually read this stuff?
on another note, good to hear from ed, lets hope he doesnt combine the beer-drinking initiation with the natives and amateur herpetology!
