Andrew,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! We are thinking of you as you celebrate in South Africa! Wow - I'd love to be there, too. Its such fun following your pictures and journal entries, though we've been missing them of late. I can imagine that its not always easy to use the internet in some of these places. I hope you have a wonderful day today and that there are lots of friends around to help you celebrate. Love, Anne and Ed

Hi Drew,
I think you have trumped me on countries visited by now. Perhaps that makes you more worldly intelligent than me, but at least I remembered your birthday... which is probably the most important of all worldly events. Hope your birds sing you a lovely birthday song.
Miss you,
Marcia

Hi Andrew,
A little bird told us you have a birthday coming up. However and wherever you celebrate it, please know that we are thinking of you and may you have a wonderful day. Hope all is going well---what a fun project you are working on. Infact in second grade we are just beginning to study the Arctic and one of the birds we will be researching will be the Arctic Tern. We will be looking at your site in more detail! Take care of yourself and once again HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Drew, sir, I loved your journal entry about the Meat Jar. The Senegal posting is pretty fantastic as well. But really, the Meat Jar had me entirely engrossed for a good 7 minutes. South Africa, now? That's really far away, and probably incredible. Well, I don't know if this can compare, but I might attend Halloween celebrations in the Castro district of San Francisco this Tuesday- I hear it's wild. I hope you're enjoying the awesome sights of wherever you are, too. Miss you, buddy.

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for those lovely birds and the photos taken on your trip.
Have you got your moustache shaven recently? It seems to me that you look different from what we first met in Aberdeen.
