Today was amazing!!!! I went to the Ireland School of Falconry!
My trainer, a young French woman and I cannot find the paper with her name, was so wonderful.
She started by introducing me to the Harris hawks and then to the other hawks they have. Then she got me geared to fly Stoker who is a 3 month old male baby. I was in awe the whole time. Tried to take pictures but he was so fast hard to get clear photos. The school is located by Ashford Castle! I am so upset that I was not booked here! It is truly what I imagined a real castle being like. I considered trying to stay there Sunday but they have no rooms :(.
The walk was over an hour with Stoker but seemed short. Then I was introduced to Dingle who is similar to our Great Horned Owl. I can't remember his exact breed. He weighed 4 pounds. We didn't take him to the Forrest but flew him in a field. For both Stoker and Dingle I was given fresh quail pieces and mice which were cut up. I was so amazed that part didn't bother me.
I had to say bye and so bought a nice polo shirt.
Made my way back to town. Stopped at their equivalent to Best Buy and got new chargers for my IPad.
Got back to the B&B and then walked down to town and had beef and Guinness stew and a Guinness with black currant.
Tomorrow I am going on a bus tour to the Cliffs of Mohr. No driving whoo hop!
The last picture was actually the first one. Two small boy twins were at the gas station with their dad they came up to scare me :D. They were on their way to school dressed up for their Halloween party!
