Today had me reconsidering whether travelling by cruise ship is right for us at this time. After reading about Skagen for months, our organised tour started at 9:45am and we were back on the boat by 2:30pm for a 3pm departure.
Of a day where it gets light at 6am and dark at 10pm it feels like too little of the day was spent in town. Its something to think about. Of course to get to these places takes time and so others ways may be inefficient also, but it just didnt feel like enough time.
But anyway, we went to Grene with our guide and got photos with a foot in each ocean, the North sea to the west and the Baltic to the east which was fun.
We then went to the Skagen Museum and had an awesome guide discuss art with us via 4 or 5 paintings. Things like perception, the golden third, modern art, balance, she was incredible.
The rest of the time (about an hour) was spent driving around the town. This was a bit of a waste and could have been better spent shopping.
At sea and heading for Oslo, dinner with most of the 14 aussies onboard tonight. Great night, last ones in the restaurant and the time just flew by.
