Hi again, well we have been to the tea plantations since our last update in Munnar, this was a great experience, eept the bus that almost flew over every cliff going, rather shaken we arrived in Munnar only to find our first bath in 11 weeks, yes it has been that long and yes we do miss baths and roast dinners and all the lovely stuff your probably munching whilst reading this. Anyway sorry rather hungry and don't fancy any more thali 'as good as it is'. As I say we stayed in a place called the S and N Anex hotel, which was well over budget, little did spud tell me, but it has a bath he says ha ha bless him, but the plug was leaking so after about four hours we finally had a bath which was so divine. 'o the little things we take for granted' and made our way out into Munnar town. Not really much going on except the tours really, although they did sell a veggie sandwich which was good. After a night chillin like some villans we got up at 10.00am and made our way towards the hills and Tea plantations, the views were just breath taking and we eventually made it up to the Top Station which was 8,000 feet above sea level. very difficult to breath and also very difficult to walk long distances, 'mazie how you did Peru' i will never know, i had to have some of spuds astma pump. It was a fine day, we met the tea workers whom smiled lovely for us and giggled alot, and then made our way back down, the ears were popping and mine still arn't right i swear. After two days in Munnar we made our way via another 5 hour bus journey to Kumily which is wear the Preyiar Wildlife sanctuary is, apparrently there are meant to be tigers and elephants there, unfortunatly after a three hour trek through the jungle and a jeep safari ride and boat ride later the only sightings were monkeys. All very amusing in there natuaral enviroment that is for sure, but a little disapointed at the no show of the other animals. i had leeches on my shoes and our little guide got bitten, which i have to say was our first encounter ever with leeches yuk!!! is all i have to say about that and worms!!!
we had a good day, up at 5.00am driving 40km in a jeep 'that was cool' and then of to the park, we did a little bit of boating and then came back for a long needed showere and sleep. the next day spud went with the boy from our huts 'bamboo village' to the other side entrance i.e illegal side, which turned out to be a bit of a work out for him 4 hours trekking up hill all the way until the top, 'thanks god i decided for a reading/relaxing day' ha ha! women see we always no best tee hee. but he had a great time, except he got arrested by the park rangers for going in the back way, i.e your not allowed to do that, he got out of it by 500 rupees and then went to vist el sandras family. generally he had a good time and we have both lost at least 3 pounds due to it. We are know in Valkara which is just down the south coast of kerela, having a good time, it feels a little like Goa here, a bit untouched perhaps, after a 6 hour bus journey and a two and a half hour train journey we finally reached here. tommorrow we are of to Mumbai, we have decided to get going a bit, India is such a vast country and can be quite touch at times so tommorrow we flight to mumbai and then we go to see the Taj Mahal and then we go to hopefully Rajastan and then onto Nepal 'yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa' finally into another country! then we will try and go into China or perhaps Cambodia! fingers crossed. anyway were still here roughing it out, we hope that you are all okay, love and miss you loads Tei and spud
