Hi backpackers. We are really enjoying reading your blogs. You have already covered loads of miles and seen so much. You have cetainly had a mixture of temperatures and weather. We have been following the exploits of the volcano in the newspaper one picture looked like it had been snowing but the covering was of ash. Look forward to seeing some photo's when you get to NZ. Enjoy the rest of SA. Lots of love Andrew, Claire Oliver & Daniel.

It sounds as though Pucon is a little more civilised than where you've been recently, and also a little warmer. The trip up the volcano should be good value. There was a spectacular picture of the volcano at Chaitan on the front page of "The Times" the other day. I've been told that Santiago is a very nice city so that should be a good way to finish off South America. The sun continues to shine here and it is unseasonably hot, but we're not complaining! All the best, Dad
Chris
Hope you had a good ferry trip. The scenery must have been amazing. Summer has finally found us here. It's warmer and the sun is actually shining and apparently will stay like it all week. Shame it wasn't too bright on Monday which was the Bank Holiday. Claire and Andrew came over with the boys. They have also been keeping up with your blog.
Enjoy the volcano - jut don't get too close! Love Mum

So how was your time at sea - not too rough I hope! I had a look at the map this morning it seems to have been quite a journey. Hope you got to see everything you wanted. Gave Mum a little scare when I told her about the erupting volcano in Chile. How far is it from where you will be? All the best, Dad
Nick
Sounds like a busy week for you both. So, going up an active volcano... I guess you may see the plume from the one that is erupting near Chaitan from the ferry - hope that wasn't the one you were thinking of! Take care, Dad
Grandpa
Hi you guys, for your info. on the sheep, they are in fact Welsh, taken there in the 19th Cent.with Welsh immigrants - they still speak Welsh in the remote valleys in Tierra del Fuego. Remember Tegan's great gran's name was Morna Jones! You'll find it all on www.patagonia-argentina.com/i/content/la_gente_galesa.htm it's in English too. Hope to see some more photos when you get some time. Hasta luego, muchos abrazos, Grandma & Grandpa

Hi Guys,
Great to hear from you. Glad to hear you had an interesting time watching the local fauna and flora. This is a side of Toby we've never seen before!! Back home it's been a pretty reasonable weekend - yesterday was like summer - warm and sunny rather than wet and windy. But it's service as normal today. Look forward to seeing a few more phots - greatly enjoyed the little taster you posted yesterday! Take care. All the best, Dad
Grandma & Grandpa
Very glad you have seen some of the places your Dad has been, Tegan, and seen how beautiful is this planet which is so nearly spoiled. You can see how different from the south of England and how different are the priorities for people who may be living on less than 2$/day, all of which is what your gap year travel should be about. You get a different perspective on life. Hope you have both survived the mad bus drivers. We're enjoying your blog.
Lots of love, Grandma & Grandpa.

Enjoy the ferry trip, it's something that you can't miss. I'm extremely jealous, you're in one of the best areas in the world for sea life, it's where lots of cruise ships go to see whales, seals, dolphins, coastal scenery etc. I hope you get a chance to upload some photos soon. Love Dad
