Day 6 and the hoose-mates are off to Vietnam....
Had a hectic 5 days in Hong Kong of hot and sweaty sightseeing. Been up and down more escalators than a security guard at Blue Water, but it is a great city, very vibrant and spectacular at night. The Sterling doesn't go very very far in what can only be described as a GIANT Canary Wharf, stretching as far as the eye can see.
We've just arrived in Hanoi which is more chaotic, hotter and off the scale when it comes to hustle and bussle. It feels lawless compared to the quiet suburbia of Horsham Town but exciting none the less. Had a very angry taxi driver that took us into the city nearly taking out all and Sundry as he blazed a trail of destruction to our hotel. The place is swarming with scooters and tuk tuk's and the air is filled with honking and tooting, but its quite fun in a weird way.
Off to the night market now with several million Dong in our pockets, so we are feeling loaded compared to the banking lifestyle of Hong Kong where we were bottom of the food chain. Stumbled into a backpackers hostel to use the internet and we feel OLD! OMG it's like a crazy 18-20s holiday- remember them? Tried the local brew- Bia Hoi@ 25,000 dong. A bargain. About 15 US cents.
Still trying to find a place to upload photos so we can make this blog a little more colourful. The Eiffle Tower on the home page is hardly a reflection of this trip!!
Until the next exciting episode, ooh what a cliff hanger
