You both are doing very well. Sounds like a great experience. Great Britain has so much to offer beauty wise. So glad you are getting good weather. Keep going lads. Not far to go now. The whole team is behind you.
The Blog is really good and entertaining.
Last push and you'll be there.

Hi dad and ewan,
Cant believe you've managed to get to Glasgow already!
The stories of lost maps bring back memories of many a map left on the car roof!
me and simon have been to see a flat today that I really like but Simon isn't sure so we will see what happens. Simon has a second interview on friday so fingers crossed for that too.
Send my love to everyone xxxxx

Just caught up with your blog today, well done both of you! fantastic photos and great continuing saga... Hope the legs and the sense of humour hold out. You'll certainly deserve a wee dram (or 2) at JoG!

Hi David and Ewan
Hope you are enjoying your rest in Glasgow. I'm really enjoying your blog. It's the first thing I look for each morning. I think Ewan is writing most of it. It's good to see he isn't held back too much by his English education.
Keep those knees pumping.

John And Philippa
Hi David and Ewan!
It's Philippa here - and this is the first occasion that I have read your blog with great interest...
Message from John and I - keep your tyres well inflated and lang may your lum reek!
John and Scott commence the West Highland Way (WHW) on Saturday 29 May 2010 and aim to leave Milngavie at 9.30am... the hare and the tortoise come to mind. John says if you get another puncture, there's always room in his rucksack.
Lots of love xx

Sounds as though you are going great guns, your blogs are very well written - is that Dave or Ewan!!
Well done to both of you I hope the remainder of the trip goes according to plan. I am off to Scotland on Friday, by plane and train - much more sensible and also much quicker.
See you on the 7th.

Have finally got round to checking your progress. Really enjoyed the mental picture I conjured up from your pre-trip mishap in Ware……sorry! Needless to say I passed on the mental image of the Lycra. Seems to have been going fairly smoothly (the Vaseline probably helps) since Ware so lets hope that it stays that way. The fact you have had time to watch the footie and have a daily beer or two makes this cycling malarkey seem a lot more appealing…..you are making it sound far too easy!

Reading your blog for the first time today, (any blog ever to be honest!) not sure how appropriate my laughter was for an open plan environment but hey! Glad you are enjoying yourselves and all the sights. I'm amazed how far you have travelled already. Best of luck for the remainder of the journey - watch out for grizzly bears when you cross the border. Haze

Realise this is my first message ( thought I sent one before....technology???)
Congrats so far ...27psi even I knew firmer tyres were better but don't over infate as the spokes will puncture inner tube...i'm really really jealous but heat must be unbearable....how's it been traffic wise ...that would be my major concern......looking forward to seeing you so as you can relive the high and low points ...keep at it...well done#

Sounds like you're having a great time and fine weather, so here are a few tips to liven up the blog a bit. Leave essential pieces of kit behind in lodging houses. Have bits break on your bike that necessitate long taxi rides and expensive repairs. And don't just cycle alongside rivers, enjoying the scenery, for the sake of your readers fall in now and again.

Hi dad and ewan
Sounds like your going great guns already. I hope your one sided suntan isn't worsening in the nice weather!
I cant compete with mum and her hectic lifestyle but we have found a flat that we both really like and are going to go round and have a look. Simon has another interview in Durham today so hopefully something will come of that.
Simon sends his love and encouragement!
lots of love xxxx

Hi David and Ewan
Just back from Italy and off again on Sunday so delighted to catch up on Lejog-makes our London to Southend some years aga seem tame!
The bridge sounds fun! Shame the wind was not behind you but the view on a bike must have been a high light for the trip. Wishing you both all the best and will catch up when I and you both get back when there will be a cold pint waiting!
