Tavis and Miranda's Excellent Adventure
So from Quebec City we hired a car and drove 8 hours down the coast to Niagra Falls. We had asked for a little economy car, but when we went to pick it up all they had left was a huge white van! So.. since we have rapidly been going through our funds, and considering car hire and accommodation is quite expensive over here, we decided to purchase a couple of pillows and blankets and sleep the next two nights in the back of our huge white van. The drive to Niagra Falls was lovely - it is autumn over here so there are a million different colours in the leaves of the trees mixing together for gorgeous scenery. We didn't arrive in Niagra Falls until about 9pm that night and we were pretty tired so we decided we needed a warm shower and cosy bed... so our big white van had to sleep out alone in the cold that night.. tomorrow night we would keep him company! The following day we spent the day at the falls - Amazing!! We did all the activities: walk behind the falls, maid of the mist boat ride to the base of the falls and the white water walk along the falls rapids. The day was rainy and cold but was still awesome! An unbelievable amount of water pours over the falls every second and the amount of energy it creates is just fascinating!! As the night dawned upon us and after the rainy and freezing day, we considered where we would park up for the night... but after a bit we decided that it would be way too cold overnight and so we booked into a cheap hotel for the night :-) So once again our van spent the night alone! The town of Niagra Falls is a pretty cool place. The main street is like a mini Times Square with huge screens and decorations. Now off to Toronto!
