Wanaka is a little town by Lake Wanaka which was carved out by a glacier. We had a short walk around the lake and town before heading to the hostel bar where we had a few competitions with the other tour buses!
The following day we drove to Queenstown stopping at the kawarau suspension bridge where i did my first ever buny jump and it was soooooo fun, i loved it! In Queenstown we went out for a few drinks, had the world famous Ferg Burger and i also enjoyed walking around the town and lake overlooking the mountins.
The Deep South ...
Starting in Queenstown we first went to Milford sounds stopping at mnay places along the way to take photos of the awesome landscape. We went through the homer tunnel which i a tunnel though the mountin carved out entirly by hand! When in Milford we went on a ferry ride around the fiord which was incredible, we had lovely sunny weather which is a suprise as Milford has a record 220 days a year rain! After the cruise we drove to Gunns Camp situated in the Holyford valley where we stayed the night.
The next day we drove to Invercargill, NZ southern most city. We stopped off in bluff where we walked to a scenic lookout over the ocean where we could see Stuart Island. We also went to the catlins where we saw a sea lion on the beach!
