So I finally arrived at Melbourne at 7am!! I wasn't allowed to check into my hostel until 8am so I sat in Hungry Jack's (Ozzy version of Burger King) and had brekkie, lovely and greasy! Some elderly lady came and sat next to me and we had a chat about my travels. She then started singing some australian songs from her youth....am I a crazy person magnet?!!

Anyway so after saying my goodbyes to her I hopped on a tram to my hostel, just in time for breakfast...bleurgh! I just settled for another coffee! Unfortunately I wasnt allowed to go into my room or have a shower until 1pm. By this point I was overtired and sweaty....but I didnt put up a fight and headed towards Chapel St where I window shopped, food shopped, internet browsed then I headed to a little book shop where I chatted to the elderly owner and her cats, bought a book as well that I have been meaning to read for the past month - 'on the road' by Jack Kerouac (excellent book!) and by then it was time for me to check in!

So I checked in, showered, napped, ate then joined some people in the common room where I drank pink goon (very posh!). The pub in the hostel was celebrating Christmas in July so after a few drinks we headed down there. Didnt end up too drunk as the cheapest pints were $6.50 for XXXX (2.5%), tasted ok though!!
