(I'm not sure why the location is set to maryland?? I'm definitely in Washington DC)
We finally made it to DC!! That was the longest coach journey EVER!!! First of all we said goodbye to Tia (sad sad moment), then we get to the bus stop and some dude stank of B.O real bad. So as we're waiting to get on the coach we realise "oh no, he's on our coach!" Even people who weren't on our coach wished us luck for our journey. Then comes the worst part..... The smelly dude sat 2 rows from us.... Eeeewwww! Just punch me in the face why don't you... LOL
The coach journey was 4 hours long and when I say long I mean looooonnnggg. You know when you try to sleep but wake up cause your head keeps bobbing? Well that was the case for me.... Terrible times! Smelly dude, cheesy crisps, crying baby (2 rows behind) and bobbing head! What else could make this journey more uncomfortable? The fact that we sat too close to the toilet!!! Hahahaha. Whenever someone used the loo, they would slam the door shut! Like c'mon maaann, that's not cool yo.
It took us about 30mins to walk from the bus stop in DC to our hostel, which I have to say is very impressive for a hostel. Clean, neat and not to mention the bed is comfy. Private ensuite as well so all is good. I will definitely be catching up on some good sleep tonight.
The scenery as soon as we got off the coach was completely different to NYC. Here, it's quiet and seems residential but we did walk past a few bars and restaurants. The houses are so cute and the roads just look so inviting to live on. I can see us having a good sight seeing day tomorrow.
We have a jam packed sight seeing itinerary for tomorrow as it's our only day to do it.
The photos on my SLR are going to be full of interesting monuments and hopefully we have time to visit some museums.
We've gone cultural. Forget the partying in DC... It's all about the history!
