Camper Van Tales- South Island!!

Well we'v now had the camper a week and we'r both still surviving!! The south Island has been absolutlely amazing and we have seen the most wonderful views and scenery!! Everywhere we have been has been totally breathtaking!!

We started by taking a visit to Lake Tekapo- a gorgeous lake an unbelievable turquoise colour-you'v never seen anything like it in your life!! From there we went to Mount Cook where we did some mountain walking!! Quite surreal as we were sweating in our shorts and vests yet surrounded by snow topped mountains!! We then headed to Queenstown-Jamies favourite place, the adrenhalin capital of the world!! Here we went jetboating and got slightly wet, took the gondola up the top of the hills for amazing views and took the luge back down (a downhill go-kart with no engiene!!) We then decided to go paragliding which was fantastic!! met plenty of campers along the way-been fun!! From here we headed to Milford Sound where we took a cruise on the Fiords (the landscape created over thousands of years by moving glaciers!!) again we cant describe the scenery-too amazing for words!! Also saw loads of seals and got up close...so cute!! Nest stop was Fox Glacier and Franz Joseph Glacier-never seen any before-quite strange seeing mountain sides of ice on a red hot day! We then set off towards Kaikoura stopping along the way at Hanmer Springs where we did the thermal and sulphur pools (seen as though we missed our spa day at centre parcs!) Today we went to the seal colony in Kaikoura-stood on the rocks surrounded by seals lazing around, could get real close without them even flinching!! Jamie here- just to let everyone know Tammy is a little peed off today as we were sat eating our jam sandwhiches (times are hard!!) watching the seals when down swooped a seagull and took it straight from here hand!! tried not to laugh too much, haha!! We have booked to go swimming with the dolphins tomorrow so we'l update you soon!! As you can tell we have been very busy....last few days here in the south before we sail across to the north island so we'l update as soon as poss!! The weather we cant complain about-been hotter than expected but the occasional rain fall!! Thats all for now, max and paddy xxx
