I was glad to hear that granny's eye operation went well! :)
We had a lazy morning and hot some soup which we ate at Robyn's. We then went to see Monsters University in 3D which was nice!
We had an hours break before heading to Mr and Mrs Smiths for dinner which was just lovely! They are Neil's (Garth's good friend) parents who had helped Garth financially through uni. There house was amazing!!! They fed us amazing food and wine. Their daughter Carey and her husband Graham popped over to say hello. Carey is Garth's age and this this time last year she only had 15% of her eye sight. SA doctors wanted to start her on a chemotherapy and her husband refused, flew her our to an expert in Boston, had one X-Ray and told her it was a simple operation to solve the problem with a 95% chance a full eye sight recovery, which they did. The health care in south Africa is more than scary!
We had a lovely evening hearing how Mr and Mrs Smith had worked hard for 40 years, saving money and making the right decisions to end up in owning a refractory business which is blessing them and 16 multi ethnic staff members! How refreshing and inspiring!!
It's been the only evening out where the following words have not been used once; 'black' and 'coloured'......
