I slept much better and we had a lazy start before heading to an international church on HK island called the vine centre. It was relatively east to find and had a nice coffee shop downstairs where I had a yummy (but pricey) vanilla frapachino.
Upstairs the service was very good. A local lady lead whilst another local guy spoke on the dangers of digital as part of a faith online series. He warned about isolation, exposure and desensitisation.
We ate in a local restaurant which was ok but cheap. We decided to try to find the upstairs of the IFC mall which I had read had good views. This took a while... It rained and there were hundreds and hundreds of ladies sitting along the side of the walkways. Whilst buying stamps I asked the guy who they where and he said they are maids for the locals from Malaysia who take Sundays off and post things to their families at home!
The IFC mall did have a good view of across the harbour but it was only 4 stories high (we thought it might have been more like 40 stories high!) so we didn't stay long. It was 3.30 by now and a bit late for my afternoon nap at the hotel so we went to the cinema instead! We got in just intone to see The Great Gatsby but we had to watch it in 3D and sat on the front row. I was cold during the film hit really enjoyed it!
We then made our way up to the peak tram and queued for a long time. People where pushing and running for seats on the tram?!?!! There wasn't really a view from the tram but it was very steep! At the top we were trapped by shops and followed many escalators up to the sky viewer. When there it was surrounded by cold with no view at all...I was so annoyed as we paid an extra $70 for the privilege :( it took us ages to finally find our way out of the silly building and further down found a small lane where there was less cloud. We sat and enjoyed the half view until the start of the light show then we queued for ages to get back down with a lot of pushing people. The stressfulness outweighed the view on this excursion!
We went back to the hotel to refresh then went our for dinner. I enjoyed a beef noodles with a cold beer! We then did some shopping at the night market before collapsing exhausted into bed! My feet were killing me lol!
