We got stamped out of Bolivia and eventually took a 45min bus down to San Pedro in Chile! Our 3rd country. It was a hut in the middle of nowhere and there wasn't a line to cross so to speak, so I didn't get any good photos.
We made our descent to San Pedro and I noticed a few things: being on a tarmacked road for the first time in 3 days was luxury!! The terrain was very different. More vegetation and les desert. We were finally leaving altitude!!
Stamping into Chile took a bit longer as they are much more thorough and scan our luggage.
We arrived at our hotel at midday (clocks went back an hour again) to find we could only get out rooms at 3pm. So we wondered town, found an ATM and had lunch with Sarah and Vince (who kept feeding the stray dogs)
We eventually got our room, which was much appreciated as we were very hot (not used to being closer to sea level) and wanted a proper shower after 2 nights of hostels and 3 days of salt and desert!
We snoozed and watched The Awakening then joined Sarah, Vince, the 2 Greg's and Grant for dinner. The boys (not Garth) wolf whistled these Chilean girls in hot pants and their brother came and told us/them off! (good!)
