At breakfast we took pancake with bananas. But - that wasn't as good as we got in Gili Trawangan in March. This one was ok, though. Then we went to read at the poolside and went to swim in the pool and into the sea.
We also got our first Thai massage at the poolside, looking to the sea. It was an interesting experience, even though it did also hurt at some parts, like at my back and neck.. But after it we did felt really relaxed. :)
Hmm, hours went lazily away 'till the evening.
We had decided to go for a dinner to the restaurant called "9Gems" in between Bophut and Chaweng. Taxi there was expensive, of course.
The place itself was of an "upscale" restaurant/hotel on a hilltop looking to Chaweng. At the end of a dark, pretty bad shaped dirt road, so certainly many taxis will refuse to drive there! It is kept by coupla guys (my "wild" guess: gay guys ;). The interior was a bit too kitsch for my taste: too much black and blue lights, etc. So that it looked more like a club than a restaurant.. A bit more taste in the interior would've been nice.. Plusses came from roses(& rose pedals) everywhere and black napkins. ;) Prices were pretty expensive, but as a Finn I can say that they were justified for the food really was excellent!!!
We had starting coctails, Pina Colada&Texas Fizz and for a main course I took grilled tuna and Niina took tuna curry. Both were good, but my tuna really was superb - just PERFECTLY cooked and a really good portion all the way! :) As a dessert I took the vanilla mousse with rasberry served from a champagne glass and Niina had a chocolate souflee with home made ginger ice cream; they were also very tasty and good sized. =)
All in all, dining experience for food was perfect, the interior a bit untasty. Minuses comes also from the staffs habit to stand "in alarm" at about 5m from your table and watch.. Gives you a bit uneasy feeling, when you'd just want to eat in peace. And it's ok to come to the table once and ask wheather the food is good, but they did it at least 3(!) times, which sure is a bit too much, don't you think?!
But I'd still say go there, because of the really good food! Check was ~5000 baht(~100€), but it was worth it.
It included two coctails, two beers, main courses & desserts, so actually it was reasonable. (In Finland about 50€/head for all of those would be hardly enough...for as good food as here was).
Called our taxi to pick us up, and drove home. Sometimes these lazy days are exactly what you need. And gotta say that these now have been really welcomed after our adventurous weeks in Nepal ;D There it was an action holiday, here it is a relaxtion holiday ;))
