To all,
Update from Australia.
Since i last wrote we have been very busy this last week. We have visited Manly Beach which you get to by Ferry. This has a very nice beach with lots of surfers! We stayed quite late and went for a few drinks in The Brighton Hotel, we ended up playing prize bingo which turned into strip Bingo for me and one other unlucky guy! Good job i had my bikini on that night! I won and me and Em ended up returning on the late ferry back with a sombrero, a t shirt, a cap, a meat tray (sausages yum yum), a koala keyring, 4 bags of crisps, 5 bottles of water and a few beers with the $30 bar tab that i won! Overall a very amusing but very random evening in Manly Beach.
Thursday we headed to the centre again where we looked around Paddy's Market one of Australia's oldest traditional markets and then went to Sentennial Park to watch a late open air movie. Now this was quite an amusing evening. We sat and watched Jane Austins Bookclub (very good may i add) whilst sipping on wine and eating a picnic when 5 minutes later Emma had an unexpected blob of poo land on her leg! Yes this was from the numerous bats that were flying around the trees and above our heads needless to say throughout the movie a few screams were heard as they continued to drop poo on other people! Hilarious!
Friday we had an early start and made our way to the Blue Mountains where we stayed for a night. Why so blue? The ever present haze that gives the mountains their name is caused by the rays of light striking droplets of oil dispersed by gum trees. Haze usually results when sunlight illuminates floating particles such as dust, water droplets, air molecules and, in this case, the fine mist of oils. They were amazing. When we arrived we walked to scenic world where we went on the scenic skyway, scenis cableway, railway and walked along the walkway. Now the railway was by far an unforgettable experience. It is the worlds steepest railway, fine i thought until Emma made us sit at the front! There were no rails that pulled back and no seat belts, just music playing the theme tune from Indiana Jones, i thought my life was ending i screamed the whole way down it was very very scary! Other than that the other rides were fantastic and the views amazing. Check out the pics.
The next day we headed over to Wentworth Falls where we carried out a 4 hour bush walk, just the two of us and a map! Yes dangerous i know. Ha! You would have loved this Craig and Peter. We walked through parts of the National Parks amongst near vertical hanging swamps, delightful rainforests, overhanging cliffs, rare and endangered species of which were very poisonous and deadly and a waterfall. We tried not to think about those and proceeded with the walk but looking back now i dare not think about how close we actually were to deadly snakes and spiders! It really was an amazing walk. On the way back we did the Darwins Walk which follows the route taken by early tourists to the area, including Charles Darwin in 1836. We then proceeded to the station and caught the train back to the city. Overall a lovely two days in the Blue Mountains.
Today we headed back into the city and we met up with my cousin Rachel and her husband we have not seen each other in maybe 12 years it was lovely to have a catch up, dinner and a few drinks sat by the Opera House and the Bridge, check out the new photos i have added.
Tommorow we are heading to Bondi Beach for a night and the rest of the week we have plans to go to Plam Beach (Home and Away) , the Zoo and to walk over the Harbour Bridge i cant wait. Then Saturday night heading out to Coogee Bay where we will meet up with Sally again and Kath to clebrate St Patricks day!
Following that we will head onto Brisbane stopping at Byron Bay and further explore the Gold Coast.
Will write then with more intesreting experiences.
Miss you all hope you are all well,we are not even half way through our trip yet and we already feel like we have been away for a lot longer and seen soo much already, but we are still loving every minute of it.
Take care all, Love Sarah and Emma Xxxx
