G'Day,
I thought this would be the best way to share my photo's and keep you updated on my adventure in Oz. You can also leave me a messgae if you like!
My flight was great from Glasgow to Dubai and then on to Perth, I really recommend Emirates. Dubai was roasting around 34 degrees and it was 12.30 am. I managed to watch lots of films and the food was pretty good.
Naomi and Ken picked me up at the Airport and took me to their very 'Aussie' home. I spent the weekend in Rockingham meeting Ali and Jean which was lovely and a couple of weeks later I met Tammy and Matthew. Most of my time at first in Perth was spent organising paperwork and sorting out stuff with the department of Education. I managed to do some sightseeing and shopping to replace all the things I couldn't take with me. It is quite a small City and quite quiet except for when you go on the train to the suburbs - very busy.
In the City there is a massive botanical garden called Kings Park that has viewpoint, walks, gardens, memorials and a restaurant. It is gorgeous and very peaceful. Around the city there are lots of parks and cycle parks. Very much designed for the outdoors. I went to the Bell Tower which was quite cool and on a tour bus round the city. I ve also been fishing in the Indian Ocean out on Ken's boat and spent some time at the Aquarium which was cool.
At first the weather was pretty awful, lots of storms and very wet. It cleared up abit and they said that it was the worst weather in Perth for years. Good timing!
