We got up early this morning so that we could get to Universal Studios early. We researched the way to get there and as it turns out, it's only two stops from Hollywood / Vine Station!
We went to the station and once again felt like the hobos were watching us take money out of our bags. This made me feel super uncomfortable, it always does! Not that they would snatch our money and also by the look of these people, they haven't eaten in days and probably wouldn't have the strength to knock us down anyway!! My paranoia once again!!
We got reloaded credit onto our ticket card and made our way through the gates. There was a dark dude who seemed super upset, he was no doubt gay and probably had a tiff with his boyfriend. He was strutting up and down with this blue steel pout and let out a roar every couple of minutes whilst talking or muttering under his breath. I think the kids still get freaked out about these kinds of people - me... It just pisses me off. It's like they want attention but if you make eye contact, well ... Then you in trouble!!!
We took the escalator downstairs and saw this little old Asian lady skateboarding! The funniest thing to watch, she just skated up and down the platform. She wore a red hat, red leather jacket and red boots. She let Joshua and Jacob have a go on her skate board and she said "Good job, unberiverable!" Luca walked off and started laughing, she was cute.
The train came, took maybe 10 mins to get to Universal City, then a shuttle up to the theme park. The one thing I noticed was there were no massive rides? No roller coaster noise, no screaming? It looked a lot like Movieworld. The kids took photos with some of the characters - Dora The Explorer got pretty pissed of as all the kids (especially Jacob) just about spear tackled her. Dora cracked it hardcore and peeled the kids off her and walked off a couple of metres, then she put her hands up as if to say stand back and let each of the kids s couple at a time have a photo with her. I must admit, it was pretty funny - poor girl!!
We then went to Springfield the home of the Simpsons and bought a doughnut - this thing was huge, the size of a dinner plate!!
We watched the Waterworld show, which was pretty amazing. It was a stunt show with proper actors in it - the long haired bloke from Quinn was in it, didn't recognise the others but apparently they were all in / on TV over here.
We then set out to find some rides, we went on the Jurassic Park ride first - which was pretty cool. Then we went on The Mummy ride which was really awesome, it was pretty much s roller coaster in the dark!!! It was super fast! We then did the Transformers ride which was a simulated roller coaster but I tell you what - it felt like you were on a real moving roller coaster! It was amazing!!! Then it dawned on me, that the rides were all simulation rides - which may sound boring but it really is amazing. We all get given 3D glasses and away we go - it truly is an indescribable experience!! Absolutely amazing!!
We did a Universal Studios tour which also included the King Kong ride (simulation) and the Fast and Furious ride (simulation) it was awesome! The rides have the equivalent of 16 movies screens surrounding us so that every where you look is 3D and coming at you!! We were all in complete awe of the experience.
We headed home at 8pm and thought we'd try In - N - Out burger on the way home. This place was choca's!!! There was no room to breathe! The price of the meals was so cheap, there were only three burgers to choose from which made ordering super easy! The burgers tasted really good fresh and clean. The chips were addictive also!
We rolled back to the apartment and had an awesome nights sleep - absolutely pooped!!!!
It was a great day we all had heaps of fun!
