Well I wasn't actually going to write another blog (because I couldn't be bothered), but dad's last email pursuaded me.
This last week in Darwin has been good. Had an adventurous day today. Took the bus to the shopping centre as usual. There were quite a few people there, one of the Arafura Games teams and many aborigines. Anyway, me and Becky were minding our own business, in the shade. Becky was sitting down and I was standing up. One Aborigine came up to me, no idea what he was saying, he really smelled though so I had to take a step back. He asked me what bus I was getting, then after a lot of 'what?'s he walked off mumbling something about him being broke, I guess he wanted money. He didnt ask anyone else though! Then, a few minutes later, a really drunk (ok, so most of them are) one came up to me from his little group. He stood really close and said something that I thought was 'Are you man?'. So I was like what? Then I think he said something about 'mad', like did I think he was mad, or something. So I was like no..?. He really really smelled and was obiously very drunk. I thought he was going to punch me or something cos he wasn't being very friendly! Then Becky stood up and, him being very short walked off, muttering about him being black, so I think he wanted me to be racist. He went back to his little group and they all mumbled something. Anyway, then the bus luckily came. It smelled sooooo bad on there, I couldn't breathe through my nose the whole time - literally! All of them were drunk aswell and kept elbowing me when the bus turned a corner. I think it's sad what's happened to them in the past, but they're just really annoying and have no consideration.
Anyway, a few days ago Becky woke up after having a dream where she had really horrible skin cancer, so decided to join me and not sunbathe anymore - good decision. So since then we've visited the games. I was a bit disappointing really, although we did learn a new game - Sepak Takraw. It's played by Thai, Chinese etc. It's like volleyball but only with your feet, so these men do flips to smash the ball down! It was really amazing to watch. Also watched men's basketball, they were ok. Then we waited ages to watch boxing, expecting to see massive 100kg men knocking each other out. They couldn't do it whilst the sun was still out because the judges couldn't see, then, 3/4hour later out steps two 48kg boys! They were so skinny! The man next to me, must've been 'Stevie's brother was so proud and told me 'He's only 16 and 48kgs'. Don't know if that was supposed to be impressive or not but then Becky piped up '16, he looks about 10!'. HAhaha, that was funny.
So the other days we've really just been shopping at the Casuarina Mall (with all the smellies outside). And one day I just went down to the park by the sea and read my book. I felt so bad for the homeless man who was wandering (and also a little scared that he might try and rob me, or at least talk to me) around. He stopped at the bin and took out a half full bottle of coke, if i'd had anything on me I would've run over to him and given it to him, sadly I only had water and fruit and thought he might've been like 'Ugh, no!'.
Yea, so just packed our stuff. I thought I would have loads of room because I've chucked out most of my stuff, but my bag only just closed. Don't worry though, I'm coming back super stylish!
We've just been out for a nice meal aswell. We've eaten sooo much the last couple of nights, I can hardly move right now! Oh well, it's our last night in the Southern Hemisphere for a while, oh yea, I've gotta look which way our toilet flushes!
So we have to check out tommorow at 10am, wait with our things until 1.15pm, then it's off to the airport. Our flight leaves at 4pm Oz time, then arrives in Singapore at 8pm Oz time. Then it's 13 long hours (which isn't actually that long) back to Heathrow, arriving at 5amish Monday morning - English time.
So this is probably the last blog I will write, hope (ok, I'm sure you all definately have) you enjoyed reading this! And anytime you want to think of me and I'm not there (well I can't be everywhere at once!) then just log on, and I think my blog will still be here!
So this is Susie, signing off..........................................................
