Well Im finally all settled in at home in Sevilla. We got in Thursday night to meet our host family. Me and Jenna's family is great..the first night we had dinner with the mom dad brother (34) daughter in law, and their baby who is adorable! Anyways, the family is just really nice, helpful, and the food has been DELICOUS. Im definetely going to be coming back with some Mediteraenean recipes...The house is great too because its 3 floors, and jenna and I basically get the bottom one to ourself so we dont have to worry about being loud, etc...
School at la Universidad de Sevilla is great too. Its pretty rediculous how laid back everything is here, the school included... The professors are late, and their overall manner of teaching is very carefree. Me gusta. Also the school is unbeleivably gorgeous...its about 500 years old, and it reminds me of Hogwarts in Harry Potter haha. Ill have to post pics, cause its really undescribable.
Id be lying if I said everything has been perfect all the time. Ive realized I am on a rollercoster, most of the time I am really loving it here and taking in everything with such amazment, but other times I hate it because I feel like an alien. Its a struggle...living with strangers, not being able to communicate beyond the basics, and Ive probably spent 50% of my time here absolutely lost. ha. Its not that I am missing things from back home, but moreso just the comfort of things that are familiar...I cant even describe how different things are out here...i mean literally mean everything. Some that i love (i.e. having a cerveza in between classes is totally fine...siesta..oh and the antique architechture.) Some for the bad(things are slow paced....tooooo slow paced) Im really just hoping I embrace even the bad, at least for the time being. Then when I return to the US I can bring back the part of the culture that I do like..and it should be the perfect balance. =)
