Reporting from our third and last day in Budapest, and I must admit, the city grows on you. I think I almost prefer it to Prague. It's chabby, but chic. . . signs of the old and the struggle with a new, cosmopolitian city shining through. I'm not sure which one I prefer, but I think it's the former. I would love to see what this place looked liked 10 years ago, 30 years ago, 60 years ago.
We done a good job taking in all the sites over the past two days. The Parliament Building is beautiful. The thermal baths. . . ehh, not so much, kind of the biggest ball of yarn type thing. The Hungarians are very friendly, but not in an overt, over the top way. . . just seem like genuinely nice culture welcoming visitors.
Our hotel may be the way deal of all. Found it online and we couldn't be happier with it. Mamaison Izabella. . . nice rooms, clean and we have a living area and kitchen. . . all for $100.00. Have a feeling we won't get so lucky the next few places.
Tomorrow we are off to Zagreb, flying in via Malev Airlines and then driving to Bled, Slovenia.
Report from there.
