The adventures of Manny and Melly
Hello everyone! Thanks for the messages. I will just post on here since it is a lot less time consuming than writing everyone individually (the internet cafe prices add up when you're on a budget).
We made it to Queenstown yesterday. It reminds me very much of Aspen, Colorado. It is known as the adventure capital of the world. There are lots of things to do like whitewater rafting, canyoning bungee jumping and sky-diving. I want to do something but haven't decided what yet. Manuel dislocated his shoulder yesterday (don't worry he does it all the time) so I think he'll just take pictures. Yes, Mom, I'll be careful.
Our Bush Camper, Land Rover is now our home. It has a bed, running water (cold only), a stove and a refrigerator. The only thing missing is a bathroom and shower. We've had to bathe in some very, very cold rivers. It is actually quite nice but we both miss having to rely on only our feet and backpacks. I was beginning to feel a lot like a turtle, with my home on my back, and I quite liked it.
The scenery here is beautiful. Lots of mountains, lakes and rivers. We went for a 2 hour hike yesterday and took lots of pictures. I'll have to upload them later. We are planning another hike this afternoon. It stays light here until about 9:45 p.m.! It's hard to believe.
Sorry to hear about the worker situation Mom. That's a bummer that Grandmom can't go to the beach. Do you have any workers left? Tell Jill about the website, I believe her computer is working. I love you.
