Happy Days :-)
Friday
So, i got picked up at the hostel by the rafting guys. It was like 1,5 hr drive to a camp site where got some breakfast! There I met a dutch girl who was also travelling alone, and we kinda did the rafting together! The rafting was a lot of fun, and we got to jump in the river and float down in some small rapids, which was really nice in the sunny weather! I expected it would be a bit more wild and extreme though, but it was i nice activity! And we actually ended up in Chile!! When we came back to the campsite, there were a barbecue waiting for us:-)
The dutch girl Marie-Jeanne and I decided we wanted to do some more stuff together, and later than night we met in the afternoon and made some plans and had dinner at her hostel.
Saturday
M-J and i wanted to go rock climbing, but we needed to rent some shoes, after trying several places we gave up, and decided to go mountain biking a 27km circle around some lakes! It was raining, sunshine, rain and so on.. But it was a very refreshing activity, and the nature and landscape was very beautiful and calming:-)
After a hot shower, we went out for dinner, and I finally had a traditional Argentinian real steak! It was delicious:-)
And for dessert: Home made ice cream! Which is also known to be veery good in Argentina.
Saturday
Got up early, got on the bus a bit out of town to some trekking:-) we hiked up to the mountains, it was 4 hours walking in bamboo forest, then "burned down trees" (from a fire in 96) then forest with huge trees before we got up to ca 1700m. There was a charming little cabin by a lake. We had already decided to spend the night there. It was driven by to women, and they served simple meals and drinks. It was so cold there that i had to use my sleeping bag to warm up! In the evening we had some dinner, and we met to Italian guys that was gonna do rock climbing in the area. We played cards and shared some wine with them before we put our self underneath two sleeping bags and wool underwear to keep us warm!
Sunday
We woke up at around 7, and went outside to wake up the Italian guys who were sleeping in a tent, M-J wanted to see the sunrise, but it was i bit cloudy and i started snow! So we drank some warm Mate before we went inside to eat breakfast. After some toast with "dulce de leche" (kind of caramel spread very popular in Argentina) we started to walk further up in the mountains to go down again on the other side. It was snowing a bit and and the clouds covering the highest peaks, but it was kinda cool because it just made it more adventurous and wild! And the landscape really was wild, we just went like "wooow" all the way!! "helt raatt" :-) It was very rocky, and we really had to use our hands to climb up. We hiked up to 2000m and then walked along a steep ridge for a good while before we started to go down to the small town again. It took us 6hours, and we enjoyed every part of it!
When we got back we were exhausted, but after 1 hour in the jacuzzi in my hostel we felt much better:-) it was then time for chocolate fondue!! Mmmmmm:-) what a day! The day ended with one beer and a little dinner in M-Js hostel.
Today
I will meet M-J for a coffee before i take the plane to Iguazu:-)
Tomorrow i will go to see the waterfalls from the Brazilian side:-)
