Hannah and Liv's Travel Update
We woke up to a lovely breakfast of fresh papaya, guava juice and banana, then sadly left on an hour long ride back into Jodphur, the second largest city in Rajasthan. Our hotel here was set around beautiful garden with fountain and hanging chair and we had little private houses! In the afternoon we set off firstly to a cremation site and temple of the maharajah which was very impressive and had gorgeous views over the city, which is all painted blue to detract mosquitoes. We then moved higher up to the Meherangarh Fort, which sits on a sheer rocky ridge right in the middle of town. It was a collossal fort, which rose high above the city, and we were given audio guides which they were very excited about! There included beautifully decorated rooms of mirror and gold detail, and museum rooms full of artefacts and miniature paintings. There was a superb view of the city and markets below, we walked down into the old town, and shopped into the evening at the famous clocktower. We passed stalls heaped with brightly coloured bangles and spices. We then had a lovely thali at the hotel and another delicious sweet, crispy squiggles which tasted like toffee apple.
