Arrived at Camping site Zeeburg.Great place full of hippies and the like. There are more British here than anywhere else we've been but then we aren't too far from UK now.Sorted Drum's treatment appointment for Friday in Calais and the boat to get us home.
How does one sum up Amsterdam? It's got the best of both worlds, being culture and history and cosmopolitan and trendy. It functions in its own comfort of unashamedly liberated life where anything goes, and it does. Not a place for the fainthearted or the prudish either.Once you get used to half the city wandering about in a hash haze, through the smoke you start to see the place for what it is.Beautiful. Its ancient buildings sit comfortably on the canals where we enjoyed a few beers (of course) watching the tourists float up and down on a guided tour.Nobody seems out of place in Amsterdam and both young and old travel everywhere by bicycle, or boat! Some people go to Amsterdam for one reason, to get stoned. Some go for two reasons, to get stoned and to enjoy the city and what it has to offer.Anne Frank's house is here too.Sue had been to Amsterdam several times so knew what to expect. I hadn't been before so I must admit to my slight shock at how liberated the whole city actually was.It all seems well under control and no sign of any police.I'd love to know the traffic mortality rate though and how many dope heads do get safely to the other side of the road without being hit by a bike, car, bus, tram ,moped, train or other dope head.Amsterdam is all these things that go to make it the place it is. If only Britain was this great!
Oh by the way, found out what those grit bin cars are….for the disabled, and they drive them on the cycle paths!!

I knew I was going out with the b****es as my water bowl was put into a bag.I had to climb up some steps that I could see right through to the ground below and started to get worried. I like the ground beneath me to be solid and consistent so was somewhat startled by it all.I overheard them talking about carrying me back down! Then they took me on a tram, which was ok. The most stunning white boxer b**** crossed the pavement in front of me and I was gob smacked…..she was a beaut… I was a good boy all day and I got some sausage roll, Hawaiian Pizza and lots of attention. Two Staffordshire bull terriers came along and tried to make trouble but I barked my best warning bark then hid behind the b****es.There was a strange scent in the air but I felt quite chilled out walking these streets with my b****es….yeah man….what's the rush like…..I'm starving.Anyone got any munchies?Did one of my zig zag pisses over the bridge on the way back and was very brave coming back down the steps.
