And here is the weather forecast from the BBC. The cyclone currently following Sue & Sarah around Europe continues to headin a northerly direction & is expected to hit the Netherlands within the next two days. A severe weather warning has been issued to all areas that they are heading for. If you wish to avoid torrential rain & thunder storms the like of which have not been seen since Noah….. then don't plan to be where they are headed!
Arrived in picturesque town of Eberbach , camped on the banks of the river Neckar (quite a busy shipping river)
Top tip: When being followed by a cyclone do not choose the camping pitch right next to the river if you want to spend a decent nights sleep not worrying about either the van sliding into the river or the river bursting it's banks and washing you and all you possess off towards the Danube.
The town was an unexpected bonus, nothing in the camping book (our bible) to say that it was like an illustration straight out of a Hans Christian Anderson tale. We sat in a square in the centre of town (having the customary beer) surrounded by the most amazing buildings……. We think we have an abundance ofhistoric & ancient architecture in the UK, but Germany is overrun with them, all beautifully preserved and in everyday use. One building on the river front had every flood level dating back to the 1600's marked on it's wall, the worst flood was in the 1800's and was about 20 feet above our heads and we were standing about 20feet above the river……this didn't help our paranoia later that night when it continued to rain in torrents, Sarah kept checking the chocks and, for once, even I was panicking at the rising water level.A cruise ship had docked opposite full of grey haired French people (SAGA style) who we watched spend their evening ballroom dancing, quite oblivious to our plight on the other side of the river.
We decided, just before it got dark, to try and move to higher ground & started to pack up the van but our lovely Dutch neighbours laughed & reassured us that there were flood defences both upstream & downstream and we were quite safe. Fell asleep feeling safe watching the oldies do the french foxtrot.

They've gone and bought me another Bandana, this time an army combat one.I think I look better in the red design myself, its more my colour….(listen to myself!!! This is a result of spending too much time in the company of b****es)!!!
If I stare at him long enough and look sweet and cute and make all the right faces, maybe he'll give me a sausage off his BBQ………still waiting. Anyway, the b****es were very restless, flapping and messing around packing and unpacking, getting out and checking things most of the evening then getting back in, chucking me out then calling me back in…..so, next morning I decided to go and visit the nice people in the white box behind us for a while!I think the b****es thought I was leaving home, so I let them worry for a while whilst I got lots of fuss and people came to take pictures of me.I'm very popular and the b****es seem to make friends because I'm handsome.
