I've always been a planner. I've had dreams about what I wanted to do and places I wanted to see. I have been so fortunate that many dreams have been realized. Many years ago I married a man who has always been able to see the bigger picture which has enriched my life in ways I never expected. Mike always said that when I retired we wou…
Welcome! Please enjoy this blog which will (hopefully) follow us along on our family trip to Ireland where my grandmother was born. We will visit her birthplace and several coastal cities ending in Dublin. Please feel free to write comments to us as you read as we hope that this blog will serve as a keepsake for all of us in the years to come and be something to reflect on and remind us of this special time together when life interfers with memories. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for taking us on such a life-changing trip. Not only was it great being part of Pam's "retirement" trip, it also felt great being able to share in your family's history by visiting the homeland! There were so many wonderful moments that I will never and can never forget. From Kylemore Abbey to the beautiful Ballyvolane Estate - and the many, many roads between - every day was truly a blessing. Even the simplest days and smallest adventures left me at a loss for words. This trip will forever remain in my heart for so many reasons, so thank you, thank you, thank you for planning and executing such a wonderful family trip. Love, David

Dear Mom and Dad,
I cannot thank you enough for such an incredible, fun and unforgettable trip to Ireland. I absolutely loved exploring the country as a family and feel so much more connected to our Irish roots! Visiting Carrick-on-Suir was by far the highlight for me and I will never forget it!
Thank you for all of the time and energy that went into planning such a meaningful trip. I know it was quite the task to rally the troops for ten days of exploring, especially in our little 5 seater car! I wouldn't have done anything differently, it was all absolutely wonderful. I cannot wait to someday show our baby girl photos of her first family trip to Ireland!
Thank you for the most special trip of my lifetime, our close-knit family could not be any luckier and I am so grateful for the bond we share. Love Emily (and baby banana)

Sounds like a lot of fun! Please keep good notes in case we get a chance to go next year.
We just came back from 2200 miles of driving so we have some idea of your experience.
Very interested in grandmother's birthplace so feel free to send as many photos/impressions as possible.

I sure look forward to following you on your trip!! But now I've got to correct you............it's our grandmother, not great grandmother, that was born there. You're going to love the little town she was born in.
