Left Adrian and Sandy's beautiful house this morning. They were of to Turin for the day so we packed up Betsy and headed south in a misty rainy day. Had a wonderful time in Loazzolo with them. What a magnificent place they have chosen to live in. Fantastic hosts, thanks very much for your hospitality.
As we got further south the weather gradually got better. As we hit the coast we also hit the traffiic. I have never seen so many scooters in all my life. We tried to get around to Portifino but we were stopped by the police who very politely told us we would not get Betsy around there as the roads were to narrow. So we did a U turn and finally finished up in this lovely motor camp in Rapello. There are two Swiss couples parked up behind us who have come all the way down from Switzerland in a couple of very interesting vehicles. I went over and asked if they would mind if I took a photo. Finished up having a wine with them. One was driving an ex US army ambulance (1943) which they had fully restored and turned into a camper. The other couple were driving an ex US army Jeep. (1944) which they had also converted into a mini camper arrangement.
We off to Florence tomorrow. Weather looks good.
