Today's aim was to head back to the Oregon coast and tomorrow to continue heading south from there exploring along the way.
Like yesterday we had a coolish start but it soon warmed up by mid afternoon to a little over 30C.
The guy at the servo where we filled up before setting off suggested we should go to the local attraction, a miniature train place. Not really our thing but interesting in that he said they get people from Aust & NZ shipping their trains over so they can play with them when here, talk about hard core train fanatic lol
Leaving town we went around the lake, now don't get me wrong it's no Crater Lake but it's still very nice. There were thousands of water birds, white pelicans, geese, ducks, cormorants and more, a bird watchers paradise. The lake must be well stocked for so many to be there feeding.
Like yesterday the scenery was mostly either rural farmlands or forest. Hawks and eagles patrolled the paddocks.
We needed to stock up on water and a few basics so wasted an hour or so at Costco & Walmart. I grabbed a cooked chookl at Walmart, $4, why do we pay $11 or $12 for the same thing in Aus? At Costco we picked up a 4 pack of the wine I was drinking on the ship at $30 a bottle for just $5 a bottle, knew the ship was a rip off but wow, that much? Pete got a variety 24 pack of Mikes hard lemonade for $25, such a bargain, we'd pay at least twice that in Aust. We didn't drink much at all while in Canada, it's way more exxie there due to much heavier taxation.
Another cool drive until we got to our end point, Bandon. We checked out the beach which was great, there was even a wedding going on to entertain us :-)
We went back to town and checked into our hotel for the night and did some washing. We went back to the cliff top to watch the sun go down, another gorgeous Oregon sunset.
