Stu On Tod
Right then where did i leave off, i think i was bout to go trekking!! So we set off the next morning, a group of 7 me, a dutch girl, a belgium couple, 2 french girls, and an ozzy guy. First stop was the market where we picked up any provisions we needed for the journey wat it turned into has me running round the food market eatting as much as i could and then picking up a bin liner rain coat at the last minute!! I did bump into the french girl i met on the train thou which was pretty cool!! The market food in Chang Mai in amazing by the way its like 15p for a portion and the favours are mixed geniusly!!! But enough of that! Our first stop on the trip has elephant riding, for which i think the pictures tell the story of better than i can but has clearly an increadible experience!! This was followed by a thai fest knocked up by pang- the tour guide and absolte legend! We set off trekking heading for one of the many hill tribe villages, as we did we where quickly emersed by the Jungle on all sides and after an hour it started to rain tropical style. Whipping my bin linner type thing, which turned out to be bout 15p for a good reason! I pulled it over my head and put my head straight throu the back of it... smooth. I found my group to be a really nice bunch of people, and really enjoyed my time with them over the next few days! After charging into a waterfall shoes still on at the end of the first day I was to enjoy wet feet for the rest of the trip, enevitably led to blisters, this thou was the only problem with the whole trip!! After countless breath taking views and alot of jungle later we arrived at our second nites accomidation, only ten meters from a stunning water fall! Between the group we took on our self to polish off the local tquellia supplies this being thai style tquellia and quite frankly if i said it was nicer than normal i would be lying!~! After another amazing meal from Pang, we played kind of drinking game where upon losing we rub the soot from the frying pan bottom all over yr face! Hence in the pics! Pang the tour guide retired early to bed after 1 to many beers! And a speech about how he was our friend and not just our tour guide, this was followed by him falling off the back off his chair! After every 1 else went to bed me and the ozzy joined a few of the local tribey type people, who where puffing on a bong which i found highly amusing!! Any way the next day the main event was bamboo rafting, which was even more fun than I thought i would be. Supprisingly dangerous thou. At one point I was thrown off my raft by my companions, resurfacing the raft cruised straight into the side off my head, leaving me dazed, my campanions pulled me back onto the boat, feeling slightly dizzy I promptly fell straight off the other side of the boat into a rock, painfull but I couldnt stop laughing! 3 minutes later after recovering I stood up and my leg slipped inbetween the bamboo and got stuck could have been nasty!!! Having returned from the jungle I spent last nite chillin with other travellers in my hotel lobby, and met two very nice american girls ;-) unfourtunately they left today on the tour I have just come back from! Right Im going for sum bad boy supper fest style!!
Till next time stuart xx
