The Amateur Adventurer
San Fran. Home of Superbowl Champions the 49ers. Got to love Steve Young. Sad to say however, we did not side track enough to go to the stadium. We started our trek around town at Fisherman's Wharf. This place was a tourist trap if I have ever seen one. Pretty cool none the less. We checked out boats and shops and food. There I enjoyed perhaps the best meal of my life. My aunt refered us to a place the locals love called Scoma's. Now by her explanation this was a chill place where we could show up in shorts and a t-shirt and it was fairly inexpensive. We must of misunderstood. When we arrived we looked around and noticed the place was a lot classier than we imagined. The menu was the next shocker to us...$40, thats how much we ended up spending for lunch, each! Now remember I'm a starving college student! Nonetheless the food was amazing. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
My mother would have been very disappointed had I not gone to Ghirardelli choclate factory, so of course I stopped there and bought her some wonderful chocolate. Unfortunately, we were too full from lunch and opted not to have one of the sundaes we were told were so good. Maybe next time...
After the many adventures of Fisherman's Wharf we went and checked out China Town. Very interesting place. It's name really does serve it justice.
As far as the driving goes in San Fransico goes I have never driven through anything more hectic in my life. I almost killed at least a dozen people. Sure enough we survived.
Our next visit was to Golden Gate Bridge. I have been told that this is the single most phtographed attraction in the world. I would not be surprised if that were true. The fog on our visit helped us capture a truly amazing shot of this structure.
As we headed back to my uncle's place we ventured over to Lombard Street and went down the windiest road in America. The day in San Fran was now complete with the exception of dinner and the search for a nightclub that resulted in nothing for us.
