The adrenaline starts here DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. After a realxing week in Auckland and a few days of the bay of Islands we caught the bus south to Taupo and what a place. We were here about a week it was that good. We arrived on Sunday and booked into a cheap hostel before going for a walk along the waikato river where the bungie jump is. We had planned to do the bungie jump here but fiona thinks at 50m its too small and so we are now waiting to the big one in Queenstown. The river was crystal blue and had hot springs to swim in, paradise. We had a lovely picnic here with chilli philly of course my new love and a few bottles of corona excellent. The next day we went to the rocking ropes assault course which is like an assualt course only 50 meters in the air, scary stuff. You are in a harness and have to run across tight ropes wires and tree logs with no hand supports. The climax was jumping onto a swinging trapes and a bungie swing, Terrifying but a really good laugh and day out. The next day we went to the craters of the moon and huka falls which was a lovely walk up the river the water is a wierd colour and famous for its hot spas and minerals. The huka falls are man made and power 15% of the North island amazing. We had planned to do our sky dive in the afternoon but the winds picked up and so we had to cancel till thursday, We spent the evening at the lake and had a lovely indian dinner. On the wednesday we done the Tongariro crossing which was a 8hr walk through the national park where lord of the rings was filmed. The picture has mount doom in the backround. We had lunch at the top of red crater where the views where spectacular and as its a volcano our bums were kept warm. Sore feet but the voted as the best walk in New Zealand and well worth it. On the thursday wih a few sore bones we jumped out of a perfectly good aeroplane with a parachute. The fear didn't hit me I think until the door of the plane was opened about 12km above the earth and we were told to get out at which stage it was too late. The free fall was amazing and gliding down on the parachute give you a great view of all of taupo fantastic.
