Managed to get out of Thailand ok despite the issues with our visa overstay and have spent the last two weeks back in Civilization staying with my brother in Perth and then with Katy's second cousins in Sydney. It's been so nice being able to cook again and we spend the first 4 days in Perth russling up ratatouille wellington, nachos, fajitas and a mix of thai food we have learned to cook from a thai cooking class we took on Koh Pha Ngan. It was sooooo nice. Lots of alcohol which went down a treat as the weather in Perth is much cooler at the moment (I lost my desire to drink in the hot weather). I must thank Paul and Liz and Eunice and Peter for putting up with us. We found it hard to adjust to 'normal life' again and they looked after us so well. We went to Fremantle to see a Gypsy Rock band, sat on the grass near the Sydney Opera House and waved Jessica watson in at the end of the her round the world sailing adventure and went to the largest IMAX cinema in the world to watch Alice in Wonderland in 3D. Katy and I spent two days in the Blue mountains walking to Wentworth falls and around 3 Sisters as well as taking the amazing train down to the coal mine in the rainforest on the edge of the cliff. Katy has managed to find a shared house and is all set up to get work while i am back in the UK and I am excited about going back as my ipad will be waiting for me! Looking forward to catching up with as many people as I can while i'm back.
