I am still having problems working out the mechanics of trying to download our photos and it is taking time and patience. Also Steve has suggested I should have my own i pad so he can use his when we do get service. We left Broken Hill and set off for The Flinders Ranges. Before coming into Broken Hill we were told to dump any fruit we'd had then stocked up again in town (because it was our last big centre before we went into the Ranges) we then came to another check point about 250kms over the border and had to dump all the new stiff we had bought! What a waste!! State Government performance at its best!! We then travelled into the Flinders. It is terrific. We have enjoyed 4 days walking, sightseeing and relaxing. Each morning we have had a parade of emus walk across our campsite and the other evening a kangaroo joined us for dinner as we sat around our fire. Steve had cooked a baked dinner in the camp oven. We also met another couple who have an Ultimate and joined them for drinks.
We left Wilpena Pound yesterday morning and drove up to Maree then onto the Oodnadatta Track to William Creek. We passed Lake Eyre (south) which is 40 percent full. This was one thing I wanted to see. Hard to believe it is 12metres below sea level. Today we drove into Coober Pedy, which is such a fascinating town and then this afternoon we travelled up to Marla on our way up to Alice Springs tomorrow.
Hopefully I can sort out this photo hiccup and can send this so you don't all think we have dropped off the face of the earth.

Ray You're spot on about the fruit-checking nonsense. What about the interstate travellers who don't use the main highways? And, apparently, the authorities do not know that the main thing flies do is FLY.
Dd Did you know there is a card adaptor for iPad which you simply put card from camera into and it happens automatically. Available at d*** smith or jb hifi. A good app for iPad is iPhoto which lets you group into events which you can upload in bulk. Hope that helps
