Oh boy! Funny story... Thanks to Will's attention I have found out I have given you all the wrong (!!!) phone number! It is not what I have previously told all of you. It is actually +91-931-921-8287.
So we've been in Rishikesh this whole week and I just need to say that it is my favorite city in India. I dont know if it's because there are more foreigners or because it reminds me alot of home or what, but I love it. It's the city the Beetles came to in the 1960's. There are tons of yoga ashrams and beautiful places to just sit and think. The Ganga River is amazingly beautifull too. Its the cleanest river that I've seen in India. I'm sure it's rediculously dirty down in Varnassi but here it's so beautiful. The water is green and peaceful with very little water traffic.
The ceremonies on the water are amazing. The music is so haunting and enchanting, it almost made me cry. We've been doing yoga and meditation every day as well as learning about Natropathy. Im not so sure that I agree with the philosophy of Natropathy nor with the methods of treatment, but I'm glad to have learned about it. Afterall, that's why I'm here. I think I much more prefer ayruveda and homeopathy to natropathy.
I love where we're staying too. We're in an ashram in Rishikesh near the Ghat where the aarty ceremony is performed. We each have our own rooms with a large connected balcony overlooking a field of gardens and a temple. The gardens are full of monkeys every morning. I wake up and I watch them play before I have to go to yoga. This morning there was an INTENSE monkey fight with 26 monkeys (I counted!). They were everywhere, running, jumping, wrestling, doing backflips, on the trees, in the grass, on the buildings... babies, mummys, daddys- it was fantastic to watch.
We leave tomorrow (which is really sad). We plan to stay in Haridwar and Rajiji national park during the weekend. I'm very excited because I might be able to see/ride an elephant (wish me luck!)!! I'll try to keep you all updated as much as I can. Miss you all!
