I'm writing this in a small cafe where we are staying. I just ate the worlds greatest omelette, like really so bomb.
It's really hard to document all this stuff, life is just happening to quickly to write ever amazing story down. I should have tried writing stuff down yesterday. It was the day after hell fest and I'm still recovering from the non stop partying that was duisburg and hell fest.
I can barely speak my voice was left somewhere in the pit of hell fest. Having that much fun comes with a price. I cut my hand and now it's infected, I spent way to much money on stuff, drinks and food. I ripped a hole at the crotch in my fav jeans. I experienced a mentally scaring moment that I don't wish to divulge. And I would do it all again in a heart beat.
10pm we are on our way to Paris! The most beautiful city in the world! We are using a french ride share, so this cool guy mike is driving us for 25€ each. A lot cheaper than a airplane ride and he knows English so I have radio and some one to talk to. Everyone's using there iPods right now. I'm so exited I've always dreamed of going to Paris. Going to see the tour eiffel and have wine and cheese hell yes!
While I'm in this 3 hour car ride to Paris I'll have time to write all about hell fest and how f***ing epic that was.
Hell fest day one: keven and I wake up in a sweet hotel. Get some free breakfast and a free bus ride to hell fest. April and Austin show up to eat breakfast with us. Did I mention the hotel was also free! So hooked up.
We arrive to the concert and there's deathmetal blasting from a massive circus tent in the distance. It's beautiful out the dirt and bathrooms were clean and fresh. We set up our meeting place, in probability we get lost, outside the merch tent. making our way to the temple. April is in shock with the screaming on sage covered in blood, screaming in what I think was German. They are call Merrmack. I remember the name because Austin said the name reminded him of Bernie Mac. The tent inside is pitch black and fog comes rolling out. One of the better bands I saw in the deathmetal tent all festival.
Kevin leads us to the war zone. The place to mosh it was already muddy on the first day. I forgot who we saw I just know the band was from california. But that bad was fun, the lead singer kept throwing random s*** into the pit like, pool toys and confetti.
That's the show I was right in the front filming the wall of death. And where I made a small crack in my iPhone screen, ripped my pants, and cut my hand b**** slapping some one in the pit. Not a bad way to start hell fest!
I got my hand patched up and went strait back into the pit at street dogs. I didn't know who they were but they put on a good show. The singer crowed surfed and got right up to the crowed, and I, got to run around and inflicted the pain from my hand and wipe my blood on everyone In the pit. f***ing awesome.
We took a short break after that, I ate from a pig mounted on a massive spit. It was so metal didn't taste the 8€ good, The pig was more novelty then tasty. We watched some hard core bands they sucked. We didn't care we were waiting for Lynyrd Skynyrd
! Woo America!
We wanted to be close so we waited at Lynyrd Skynyrd sage. While we waited turbonegro was playing. Watched from afar they put on a great show. It was like Judas priest and the YMCA got together and had a baby. Check them out If you like Judas priest.
Finally Lynyrd Skynyrd starts playing, and we go crAzy! I started a moshpit with the help of this french guy and girl who were loving how much fun I was having. Kevin, April and Austin got crowd surfed and I kept pissing of everyone by making a pit. He came back on for an encore like a boss and played free bird. Only band that got an encore that festival, Lynyrd Skynyrd has to play free bird lol.
Next was hank 3. We got split up there and so I checked out a little of every bad, got a little of dropkick smerfies, watch mega death they were as expected nothing new. I watched some of king diamond what a crappy show that was. I have to give him some slack it's his first show in 10 years and he just finished a major surgery. I also didn't hear and of the songs I wanted but f*** it.
It stared to rain, and rain hard. We got so wet and got more mud on me, this was going to set up tomorrow to be the muddiest f***ing smelliest most brutal day of them all. People camped in the mud and the rain. I went by myself. It was brutally disgusting and I loved it.
