Steph and Stevens travels!
Hello Ladies and Gentleman and Vaughan!
Went out for a meal to Tim\'s Turf and Surf in Darwin on Wednesday. Meal was really nice, could of ate crocodile but decided against it after seeing them all day! Went to an \'Irish\' bar, but it was more like walkabout. There was some quality dancing from the English in there, it was a source of entertainment all night. The band were rubbish but the bass player was funny. Nodded his head in a frenzy all night, even to the slow songs!
Thursday morning we started our trip towards Katherine. After hours of travelling we went on our \'cruise\' trip on the Katherine gorge. But because the water level was really high, we got to do it on a speed boat. It was lots of fun and got soaked going over the rapids between the gorges. We saw some baby crocodiles sat on the rocks, stayed and took pictures but not for too long, didn\'t know where the parents were lol! Had tea and then watched the English rugby 7 team beat the ozzie\'s which i quite enjoyed, as i was in a room full of ozzie\'s lol!
The next day we travelled for several hours on the same straight road. We was supposed to swim in some hot springs but they were flooded so we couldn\'t. The place was preparing for the restaurant and stuff to be flooded fully by night time! We then went to Daly waters, a town populated with 16 people. Stopped at the famous Daly Waters pub and had lunch. Very interesting decor to the pub - knickers, bras, boxer shorts, flip flops all over the place, strange place! Arrived at our accomodation for the night, which was a big field! Luckily it rained so we got to sleep in the dining room in swags. Had a few drinks at the pub which was cheap. They have an emu that just follows you everywhere ready to eat your eyes.
Saturday we travelled to Alice Springs which took all day. We watched Dances with Wolves on the bus by request of an anonymous passenger (me!) great film! Stopped off at the Devils Marbles, they are just loads of boulders which spread for miles. We climbed up the highest point and it was cool, but really windy and unsafe! We decided to upgrade when we got there for our two nights here which seems to be a mistake, the room is such a mess once again lol. Went out after tea to Bojangles. Classic place, very scary at first though, all the locals stare at you. Really expensive though. The toilets were odd. The doors had the handle on the wrong side off the door, so when you pushed the handle nothing happened. You had to push the other side where the hinges were. The taps were funny. You turned one tap on and the other sink turned on instead lol. The hand driers were similar aswell, press one and the other turned on! The dj was on radio all night and played cheesey music, apparently he could only play Oz top 40 but i didnt know Build me up buttercup could stay in the charts for so long lol. There is also a webcam there so you could watch us boogie as Rob and Krystal know! We stayed out till 2.30am as we could have a lay-in.
Got up at 8am and went for breakfast. Went to some ranges and did a walk and looked at something, was hungry so ate a sausage roll and pastie before following the others up a mountain thingy lol. Off to a reptile show tonight then we travel to Ayres rock tomorrow.
We forgot to bring the camera now so the pics will have to wait till another time, sorry followers!
Love Steven and Stephanie x x
