i´ve spent two nights in baños which is such a nice town. it´s really small and unfortunately quite touristy and there´s lots of tour agencies for rafting, canyoning etc. i stayed in a really nice hostel with HOT WATER!! something i haven´t had for over a month! on thursday morning i decided to act on everyone´s recommendation and do the bike ride from baños to see the waterfalls. it was 18km from baños to el pailón del diablo (the devil´s cauldron). the waterfalls were amazing! i was given a map when i hired the bike but it was raining so it disintegrated pretty quickly so i kept having to stop and ask for directions! i haven´t ridden a bike for years and it definitely didn´t come flooding back to me! surprisingly i survived and returning to baños (by bus of course), i went to give the town´s famous baths a try to soothe my aching muscles! in baños i also did a night tour up to a volcano viewing point (it had erupted on tuesday and wednesday, i, of course, missed both) but didn´t see anything.
anyway back to tena!
