Hello people!
So last time I wrote it was nearly my bday and now I'm writing and I'm a year older! Haha!
My bday was the most amazing day. We woke early and got our styff together and had a bday breakfast of cornflakes..oo exotic! Then we went outside to get into our sweet ride our red Huyandai Getz! Yeeehhaa! We left dreamtime at half 9, having opened my 2bday cards. The route was so easy. We just follwed the Captain Cook highway all the way up the coast to the Daintree ferry. The weather was stunning so with tunes pumping we set off on our roadtrip! We knew it would take about þ 2 hrs to get there so didn't mind stopping on the way. We first stopped for photos at Rexs lookout which was a gorgeous view of the sea. And then the drive from there was just beautiful right along the beach. We next xtopped in Port Douglas. We visited a beach on one side which was lovely then we crossed to the otherside on a beach which warned us off crocodiles and there it rained a bit. So it was back in Bessy our car and on up. We left the coastal drive to go in a bit towards the Daintree ferry which is a drive on ferry which takes 5 mins over the Daintree river. A very quaint little experiwnce. From there we were in the Daintree rainforest. The road eas v narrow and surrounded by the most impressive foilage and acenery. We stopped at Alexandra lookout before stopping for some bday lunch at Cafe on Sea. Here we shared nuggets and chips hahha, standard. It was on this beach that Alex and George wrote happy bday in the sand. Was awesome. It was then a half hour ride to Cape Tribo. Which was stunning. The rainforest meets the sea so trees are growing in the water and its just beautiful. Then the strangest thong happened, there we were in the middle of nowehere, and we bumped into a guy called Tobay who had been on our tour!! Soo bizarre. We hang out there for a while til about 3 before we decided to head back. The journey back was much quicker and only look 1 n half hours.
Sadly once back in Cairns we had to say goodbye to our car. So after finding a restaurant for the eevening that's what we did. We headed back to Dreamtime and got dressed up ready for dinner. Our restaurant was called Cioa Italia and was situated right on the harbour. So we sat overlooking all the boats and lights on the water. It was the perfect place! We all enjoyed our meals. Alex had lamb shanks and I had pork belly on mushroom risotto. Not gunna lie probably the best meal ever. We cudnt decide about dessert. So v kindly the waitress let us have sfogliatina plus choccy browmies mmm. The staff bought out a sparkler and free lemencello which was v nice. We had some drinks after and finished the day off perfectly.
A VERY happy birthday!
