Hello guys and gals!
Well sadly, maybe not for you, but certainly for me, this will be my last jornal entry until I find some new abode in Australia which could be at least a couple of weeks, so thought id cram a bit more useless information on to this page : )
Not actually done alot this weeek apart from laze on a lovely little beach we found on an island called Sentosa. Here we have made friends with the barmen, drank mucho fruit juice and coke light, and read lots of books! Boy its a hard life isnt it. However it was severly needed. Last Sunday we participated in what we thought would be a lovely Sunday bike round around the little villages of Singapore....thats until our tour guide came and told us it would be a 46km bike ride. now Ive never been that great at conversions so in my little Stephy mind i figured that would be about 10 miles or so. Not too bad I thought, but enough in this heat. Then I looked over at Gemma who seemed to have gone in to a state of shock...here she proceeded to tell me that the distance we would be travelling was nearing thrity mile, 30 miles!!! Oh my god thats going to kiill me was my first thought, my last thought was oh my gosh that bike ride nearly killed Gemma. Yes we had survived the bike ride/endurance test/torture that day but sadly just after half way round gemma fell off and badly scrapped her arm, leg, knee, whatever else made contact with the bumpy ground. To be fair she did look a bit of a mess and I dont kjnow where all the blood came from but she looked a bit of a wreck! Back at the hostel she is all recovered now and the bandages are off, so really we needed a quiet week to let her recouporate! teehehe.
Other than that what have I been doing?! Oh eating mucho toast and nutella, that stuff is addictive and drinking lots of coke light. They are not big on salad here and they dont have supermarkets cos everyone eats out as its so cheap apparently. But, this means that you either have to eat fish head soup, or chicken butt to make it a cheap meal. As I didnt facy eating anything that was looking me back in the eye we have gone to the city to find alternatives to these meals, although we have eat several crabs so far. I always end up wearing half my meal when that is ordered, its so darn messy!
Anyways off to the harbour now to have a look round the shops before heading to the night safari tonight. So Love to all,
Stephy XxXxX
