Esquel - NP Los Alerces 18.02.-21.02.11

After approx. 23 hours bus ride I arrived in ESQUEL. Esquel is the starting gate for the "National Park Los Alerces" and has around 30.000 inhabitants. I was still very sad and confused when I arrived at the hostel "CASA DEL PUEBLO" and was constantly thinking about the Estancia Nibepo Aike and why I have left that beautiful place.

My plan for Esquel was to go hiking in the NP Los Alceres for at least 3 days but I when I arrived with a sore throat I decided to take it easy for the following days.

In the afternoon I went into town and went shopping for a "cellular" (mobile phone) as I absolutely wanted to stay in contact with all my Ex-Colleagues from the Estancia. For dinner the hostel invited everyone for an "asado" and where we could try chorizo (sausage), corazon (heart), rinon (kidney) etc. Well…in my opinion the Chorizo (sausage) was by far the nicest…and the rest…iiihhh!

That night I met Steffi from Switzerland and Josh from Seatle in the States. We had a few glasses of wines together and later on we decided to take the 8am bus to the National Park the other morning and go for a day hike.

It was a beautiful day when we arrived 2 ½ hours later close to the "Lago Verde".As we only had a few hours we went for the 2 hour loop around the beautiful lake and at the end we just relaxed and had a picnic at a beautiful beach. Check out the photos in my album "ESQUEL"!

When we arrived back at the bus terminal at around 8pm I bought my ticket for EL BOLSON which was only 2 ½ hours further North.
