Ok here I am with another short update: I couldn't sleep in the plane. I couldn't sleep in the transfer lounge. I just closed my eyes but I didn't get much rest. I read the bulgaria travel guide again in the transfer lounge and on the flights and wanted to learn some basic bulgarian words but had to discover that somebody cut out the corresponding pages in the guide. Luckily I've already learnt the cyrillic letters such that I wasn't completely lost at the airport and on the journey towards the city centre. As described in my guide, taxi drivers want to rip you off right at the exit of the airport: "Bus complicated, bus expensive, take taxi, only 10 euros" Riiiiiight. The hostel I stay in is very nice: Dinner included, free beer at dinner included (out of 2.5 litres plastic bottles), breakfast included, internet included, pool table, chill out lounge, calm. Everything is all-you-can-eat. Since I only arrived at 4PM I didn't have much time to do anything today. I strolled around the city for two hours and I think I like it. It is a bit shabby but somehow likable. Like Berlin :D. It seems nobody knows about downhill mountainbiking the vitosha mountains, so I won't do it. You don't have to worry, mother ;) (at least for now).
Cheers!!
P.S.: Forget the Germanwings onflight meal. It's even worse than you imagine. Funny also that you couldn't understand a word they said via the loudspeakers in the plane. I could have flown with Jar-Jar Bings if there hadn't been Germanwings logos everywhere.
